Excellent 1/72 scale model of BAC Jet Provost T.Mk 5A of 6 Flying Training School, RAF Finningley, England. This is the “A” version of the Mk5, fitted with wing tip fuel tanks for additional range. Complete with optional undercarriage and canopy positions plus stand. The Skymax range has now been cancelled, so no more of this casting are ever likely to be made.
The BAC Jet Provost (originally built by Hunting Percival) was a British jet-powered trainer aircraft used by the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1955 to 1993. The Jet Provost was also a successful export product, serving in many air forces worldwide. Designed to meet an RAF requirement for a jet training aircraft, the Jet Provost was first flown on June 26th, 1954.
