Vickers Viscount 806 G-AOYJ in the attractive colours of British Airways between July 1973 and April 1981. Limited edition of 3,100 models

Length 7.25 inches, Wingspan 7.75 inches.

First flown on 9 December 1957 at Brooklands airfield, G-AOYJ performed sterling service with a large number of domestic and overseas operators until finally scrapped in 1996. Unusually she was re registered as G-BLOA in 1984.

The Vickers Viscount was a British medium-range turboprop airliner first flown in 1948 by Vickers-Armstrongs, making it the first such aircraft to enter service in the world. It would go on to be one of the most successful of the first generation postwar transports, with 445 being built.
